LUXURY FLOATING HOMES IN PANAMA

Rüdiger Koch and Grant Romundt, heads of Ocean Builders, believe that their innovative ocean technology will enable humanity to move to the sea and nature while maintaining a high quality of life. They approached Dutch architect Koen Olthuis to design their three pod models, the SeaPod, GreenPod and EcoPod.
As reported by APE-MPE, currently, the SeaPod model is being built at Linton Bay Marina in Panama. Its foundations are made of steel and concrete while the outside is covered with fiberglass, gel coat and polystyrene foam. As an iceberg, it floats through steel tubes with a capacity of about 48 cubic meters filled with air that propel the entire SeaPod three meters above the surface of the water.
It is complete, with rooms and amenities found in land-based residences, but the team opted for an all-white minimalist aesthetic approach both inside and out. Large windows allow its residents to enjoy the sun and the view of the sky. Ocean Builders chose the shell as their emblem; they believe it is a natural “home” created by Earth’s creatures and expresses their goal of building homes that are in harmony with the ocean and nature.
