The UIA World Congress of Architects CPH 2023 is the world’s largest event for sustainable architecture. The World Congress takes place every three years in different countries, and in 2013 it will be hosted for the first time in Copenhagen, Denmark by the Nordic section of the UIA: Denmark, Finland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
The goal of the World Congress is to make architecture a central tool for achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN. With great partners, inspiring keynotes and insights from the latest cutting-edge scientific research, interdisciplinary networking and the discovery of future methods and materials are promoted. 10,000+ professionals from Danish and international architectural firms, real estate developers and commercial investors, meet with prestigious scientists from around the world, students, committed NGOs and politicians to broaden their horizons, discuss and be inspired by new products and lessons learned.
The International Union of Architects UIA Union Internationale des Architectes – International Union of Architects was founded on June 28, 1948 in Lausanne, Switzerland, after the merger of the Comité permanent international des Architectes and the Réunion International des Architectes. Its headquarters are in Paris. The organization unites national associations of architects in more than 100 countries and is recognized as the only global architectural organization by most United Nations organizations, including UNESCO, UNCHS, ESOSOC, UNIDO, the World Health Organization, as well as the WTO.
