INSULATION REPAIR
After carrying out the necessary remediation works, the interventions to strengthen the thermal insulation adequacy that follow the solution of the conventional roof are carried out in the following order:
• Construction of a water vapor barrier using materials with a high resistance to the diffusion of water vapor (double bituminous application, one layer of asphalt cloth or installation of a polyethylene sheet).
• Placement of the thermal insulation material (possibly by covering it with a protective polyethylene sheet, if a layer of slopes will be constructed and it is sensitive to moisture attack).
• Configuration of slope layer, if the existing one is not effective. Alternatively, laying cement mortar (4-5 cm thick with a light grid), as a substrate for laying the waterproofing layer.
• Construction of the waterproofing layer (from bitumen, synthetic membranes, etc.), with appropriate protection from solar radiation, as long as it is a final layer (asphalt with mosaic coating or aluminum foil).
• Construction of the final layer (tiles with cement mortar, cobbles), with geotextile interpolation.
