HOTEL IN SAMOS IS AWARDED AS THE TOP IN EUROPE IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
The top prize of the international Hotel Design Award competition was won by Casa Cook Samos, during the award ceremony that took place last Thursday in Milan, reports APE-MPE. The new hotel of the Casa Cook hotel chain, owned by Fosun Tourism, is located very close to the historic village of Pythagorion and has 128 rooms, exclusively for adults.
According to the jury, as emphasized in a relevant announcement, the design line of the hotel was rewarded, proposed and implemented by the architectural company Block 722, using mainly local construction and furniture materials. The building structure of Casa Cook refers to the Greek word “company” and incorporates the concept of a Greek village in a modern space. Architectural inspiration for the design of the hotel are the traditional “Kamares” of Samos, built with local materials of the time.
According to Alessandro Dassi, Vice President of Fosun Tourism, “the integration of local cultural elements into the modern design style of our hotel is a key element of the brand philosophy and Casa Cook Samos has taken it to the next level. This award is the result of a huge team effort that would not have been possible without the dedication and support of the owner company Velos Tourism. The head of Velos Tourism, the owner company, Orestis Valis, who received the award, said: “It all started with an idea for a new luxury hotel on the island. We wanted to do something modern, staying true to the local community’s heritage. “Thanks to the creative collaboration with Block 722 and the Casa Cook team, not only were we able to realize our vision, but we also delivered a first-class seaside resort in a unique environment.
